The Pro version is not required unless you really want (or need) to dive deeply into the software. For teachers and students, the free version has enough functionality to get started, learn the software, and have fun. SketchUp is available in two versions, free and Pro. The only hard part is which object to create first. No matter how you begin, this software rewards clicking around.
